- by Refresh Science
- December 22, 2021 January 22, 2023
Online education is very popular recently due to this pandemic situation. All educational institutions starting practicing online courses considering the safety of the students. There are both advantages and disadvantages in online educations. let us see about them in detail:
Pros of Online education
Time management:.
Time management is one of the major pros of online education. Because most of the students spent lot of time in travelling especially in metro cities.
Various courses are covered under one roof. This is also related to time management. Where students are in a need to move to various locations for their respective classes.
Due to the above mentioned reasons students can learn wide courses in a short duration.

Affordable:
Online education is cost efficient. It is like a one time investment i.e. buying a laptop or a tablet. Other than that the cost of the online courses are very affordable compared to normal coaching classes.
It is very convenient and flexible not only for students but also for the parents to take care of the kids. The students can study at comfort at their home .
Online course are very much interactable since each students are monitored individually compared to classroom courses. Therefore the ability to concentrate in the subject is also increased.
It helps in improving self discipline among students. It also helps in self motivation which results in higher productivity.
Multi tasking:
Online courses are a boom to people’s who discontinued their studied for the purpose of career. Since it is flexible one can concentrate both in studies as well as in career.
Students can spent more time in their area of interest or in hobbies and also interact with people who is having same area of interest with great knowledge anywhere across the country.
Techno impact:
Since it is a virtual mode of training it is very simple and easy to understand even very complex topics. We can say that the methodology of teaching has changed as per students wish.
Other advantages:
So far we have seen the advantages of online education from students point of view. There are also more advantages other than above mentioned, let’s check it:
Online education is more advantageous to educational institution as the maintenance cost is totally reduced. Maintenance includes cost of classrooms, Electricity cost , Water cost, cost of study materials, house keeping charges and so on.
Teachers also prepare for their course in form of soft copies which can be used for future courses which reduces time and it is long-lasting.
Most of physical classroom demands are reduced such as desk, paper, pen etc.. since it is digitalized it is completely paperless.
For working parents it is very easy to make their kids concentrate on studies and take care of them. Since students are present at home all days and they can learn at flexible time duration at the convenience of the parents.

Cons of Online Education
We all know as a coin has two sides there are also two sides for online education. let’s see the cons of online education:
- Online education is not available at ease for many students. Mainly for students from rural areas. Because it requires high internet speed which is not available in rural areas.
- There are also students who cannot afford for costly electric gadgets used for class.
- Students are isolated from the outer world. They are hooked up in single room with the technology in front of them. The students are not even interested in exploring the outer world.
- As the students are isolated they become more stressful which causes many health issues.
- Technology not only teaches good things it paves way for many bad things too. There is a chance for students to get distracted by using unwanted sites.
- If there is any technical issues then it will be a huge loss for the students. There is a chance for them to miss the class or not able to attend the class until rectifying it.
- Online class means more screen time therefore there is a chance for eyesight related issues.
- Due to social isolation students lack communication skills.

- Only theoretical skills are well developed and there is a lack in practical skills. If it is a physical classroom practical training will also be provided simultaneously.
- There is a tremendous reduction in physical activities among the students. Whereas in classroom coaching separate time is allotted for the purpose of drills or yoga etc.
- During exam time it is difficult for the examiner to avoid cheating by the students. Only if the student is self disciplined the exam will be in a fair manner else there is more chance for malpractice.
As we know Online education is one of the big life saver during this pandemic situation . Parents are worried about the safety of the children and not ready to send them to educational institutions. They are also worried about the education of the children. Due to online education both the safety of the students as well as education is balanced.

Online Education Transforming the traditional classroom Eddie ElfersOffice of Teaching and Learning TechnologiesMarch 14, 2002
What is Online Education? How is it different than – and similar to – the traditional classroom? What are the tools? What are the benefits and the challenges to Wayne State? WebCT demonstration
What is Online Education? A method of course delivery unbound by time or location allowing students to access instruction from a computer via the Internet, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
How is Online Education different than – and similar to – the traditional classroom? Traditional classrooms offer face-to-face – synchronous – instruction. Students access instruction at “our time, our place.” Distance learning classrooms – video via satellite or internet, or instructors traveling to remote sites -- also offer face-to-face, synchronous instruction. Still “our time,” but perhaps closer to the student’s place.
How is Online Education different than – and similar to – the traditional classroom? Online Education is asynchronous. Course instruction, content and communication are provided and accessed via the World Wide Web, meaning that students can be “in the classroom” whenever they want. This does not mean that a faculty member must be available to students 24 hours a day. Online course software and a well-planned online class can ensure that the experience is valuable to the student but not an undue burden to the teacher.
How is Online Education different than – and similar to – the traditional classroom? Educational goals and practices should be the same in an online course as in a traditional classroom. The National Education Association’s Distance Education Quality Checklist includes the following guidelines:
NEA Distance Education Quality Checklist Online courses must: Be at least as rigorous as similar courses delivered by more traditional means Meet accreditation standards Have content that is relevant, accurate, meets state and local standards, and is subject to the normal processes of collegial decision making Meet the objectives and requirements outlined in the official course description Have student/faculty ratios that ensure the active engagement of students and high academic achievement
What are the tools? Online course software offers a variety of tools that can enable the instructor to meet the standards of educational quality, including: Means of posting and accessing syllabus, schedule and other course content in written, video or audio formats Means of transmitting assignments Communication tools such as discussion boards, chat rooms and integrated e-mail Integrated gradebook
What are the benefits and the challenges to Wayne State? Benefits: *Potential to increase enrollment by tapping into into expanded service region *Reaching working adults whose schedules don’t accommodate traditional attendance *Allows us to compete with other institutions in the region offering online courses
What are the benefits and the challenges to Wayne State? Challenges: *Developing and marketing online programs – not offering scattershot individual classes *Training and assisting faculty in development and delivery of online courses *Enabling faculty to transfer their pedagogical skills -- which they have developed in the traditional classroom -- into the virtual classroom
WebCT Demo Final thought: A 1999 study by Thomas Russell, North Carolina State University, found “no significant difference” between traditional courses and online courses, provided that instructors develop their courses with sound pedagogical techniques, and that the instructors employ a variety of teaching activities to engage their online students – just as they would to create a successful traditional class. (Watson & Kalmon, 2005) Used interchangeably with Virtual learning, Cyber learning, e-learning. Virtual learning can take place synchronously or asynchronously. In synchronous systems, participants meet in “real time”, and teachers conduct live classes in virtual classrooms. Students can communicate through a microphone, chat rights, or by writing on the board. In asynchronous learning, which is sometimes called “self-paced” learning, students are expected to complete lessons and assignments independently through the system. Asynchronous courses have deadlines just as synchronous courses do, but each student is learning at his own pace. 13

- 35. 35 ► As interest in flipped learning continues to grow, so does its adoption among the educational rank and file. By moving entry-level information outside the classroom -- typically (but not exclusively) through self-paced, scored videos -- teachers can reframe learning so that students spend more instructional time engaged in deeper discussions, hands-on applications and project-based learning. With a focus on more direct contact between teachers and students, greater application of basic concepts, and increased collaboration between learners, flipped learning provides yet another outlet for 21st century teaching. ► The payoff from flipped learning is significant. Teachers will recapture instructional time that can be used to deepen learning. Student engagement will likely rise due to more personalized contact with information. And a richer culture of collaboration will emerge among students who learn to work together. Flipped learning means that teachers do less talking and more listening. Their students will flip for that. Joe Hirsch , 4 Tips for Flipped Learning JULY 22, 2014

- 40. M-Learning Advantages: Students can study anywhere as long as there is access to an internet connection Can work at own pace Can accommodate different learning styles through different activities Flexibility in class time M-Learning is relatively cost effective 40
- 41. Advantages of Online Education 1 Students have the chance to study for free, in their own time, own pace of study. It represents a great way to study many fields and to boost the level of self-motivation. An access to all resource helps participants learn wherever they are, leaving them the freedom to choose the time for study. They change from passive to active learners. The responsibility and self-discipline of students is the MUST. Online education is able to provide learners with a flexible learning environment from any location as long as they have a good internet connection Students can attend the online classes from any location that is convenient. Everyone can enroll into any online degree program offered by any universities around the world. Online degree programs cost less than campus-based degree programs as most of learning materials are in downloadable format and the credit hours required to complete an online degree program is comparatively less. 41
- 42. Advantages of Online Education 2 It’s more efficient. Students can direct their own pace. Provides the flexibility for students to move at their own pace, unlike a classroom setting where everyone must keep up with, or slow down to, the instructor’s pace. So students who need additional time to review materials can do so at a slower rate, while faster students can breeze through course materials more quickly. Students can direct their own learning paths. Provides the modularity for students to choose their order of coursework in a manner that best suits their respective learning styles. This has been especially desired among adult learners. 42
- 43. Advantages of Online Education 3 Cost Effective Promotes online and computer skills Reduces travel time Can work around work, family and other activities Helps to build self-knowledge and self-confidence and encourages student responsibility Ability to test out if interested 43
- 44. Disadvantages of Online Education Learners with low motivation and bad study habits can easily fall behind Students may feel isolated from classmates or instructor Instructor may not always be available Slow Internet connections or older computers make accessing course difficult Hands-on or lab work is difficult to simulate in a virtual classroom Lack of student customization Lack of personal community and connection Digital divide may short circuit improvement 44
- 45. Disadvantages of Online Education Online learning cannot offer human interaction, which gives a person opportunity to develop properly. Online courses cannot cope with thousands of students who try to join discussions. Online learning can be difficult technically , if it is meant for disciplines that involve practice. If you are not comfortable with text format and prefer to listen to the lecture instead of reading it. 45
- 46. Disadvantages of Online Education Cost is still equivalent if not more than brick and mortar school Course availability Employment Working Alone Missing out on non-verbal communication Potential for less networking opportunities No facilities to use or access Exclusion of fun campus activities Commitment 46
- 47. Conclusion There are both pros and cons of online education. Online learning should be seen as a complement and extension of classical forms of learning. Not even the best online course can fully replace the personal contact with a teacher, or the human relationships that develop in a group. All in all, traditional classes should not be replaced with online learning. 47 http://www.innosightinstitute.org/innosight/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Classifying-K-12-blended-learning2.pdf
- 48. Conclusion Online education will continue to develop, but classroom teaching will also continue on improving at the same pace. 48
- 49. Making the difference Teacher’s role is to be a learning coach, mentor and a source of support as well as inspiration. 49

Online Education PPT, PowerPoint Presentation, and PDF

When using PowerPoint to make a presentation, you’ll need a file that’s both readable and editable. You can save your presentation as a PDF or as a PPT. If you’re sharing it with a customer, partner, or colleague, then a PDF will give you the most flexibility. If you need to edit or print the presentation, a PPT that is readable but not editable is a good choice. If you’re using your presentation at work, then you’ll probably want the PPT.
With the help of the internet, students can get help with their schoolwork. There are many sites that offer free papers for students. It is a good idea for students to use these sites because they will help them to get better grades and save them time. These sites give students the opportunity to get the help they need for their schoolwork without having to pay for a paper. If students need additional help, they can find someone to hire them to write their papers.
PPT, PowerPoint and PDF online training: It is no wonder that people from all over the world are opting for online diploma programs through online education. E-learning will revolutionise modern education. It has brought about major changes in the system and opened up great opportunities for all those who wish to improve their educational standards.
Nevertheless, online education is associated with certain stereotypes. People think that students who take online courses aren’t smart enough, that they’re homeschooling, that they’re not getting real degrees, and even that they’re not ideal for studying in a brick-and-mortar home. These less obvious aspects of online education may put some people off, so they stay in the traditional education system. Let us explain why online education is more beneficial and effective than you think.
PPT, PowerPoint and PDF online training
We offer five benefits of online education that will inspire you to rethink your decision about the type of education you receive. Let’s check them out below.
You can learn anything you want.
When you take a traditional course, you have to travel far from home, face the challenges of an unfamiliar city and compete in a competitive learning environment. With an online degree, you can take any program or course offered at a regular four-year university. For example, you can take any course that matches your interests and expands your knowledge, even if you don’t want to pursue a career in that field. No matter where you live, you can find a course or even a degree to take from the comfort of your own home.
You no longer have to attend every class, sit in an uncomfortable chair for long periods of time and have a backache at the end of the day. When you register for an online course, you are not required to attend the physical course. All courses and related materials are made available through online platforms and can be accessed from the comfort of your own home. Plus, you don’t have to drive from home to school, spend extra money or get dressed early in the morning. The list of amenities is endless.
Add great value to your CV
No matter where you are in your career, an online program always looks good and adds to your resume. This shows that you are dedicated to learning and always enjoy learning something new that will improve your knowledge and skills. A degree is a degree full of knowledge, and no regulator thinks that online education is inferior to traditional education. If you have a degree from a reputable university, your career will gain momentum. You will undoubtedly become a better candidate for promotion and your resume will look better.
Online learning is affordable and convenient for everyone as compared to courses of the traditional type. You’ll earn a degree, improve your career and expand your knowledge.

Courses can be delivered through the internet, via computer, or correspond to courses that would be taught in a campus environment.
